About us

Originally we set up our sister site, French Stallions, in order to bring new, fresh blood to the market.  Having experienced huge growth in the last two years, we felt that we should expand our range of stallions to the other breeding regions of Europe.

We represent some of the biggest names in the stallion world, but also list a number of very interesting stallions who rank very highly in the league tables, but are not as well publicised because they are owned by smaller stud farms, who do not have the same level of marketing expertise or budget.

All of our stallions are carefully selected and are brought to you, because they pass our own single test, namely “would we use them?”.

At German Stallions, we pride ourselves in having seen and experienced every single stallion we list.  Because we travel around Europe every week, to the various stallion shows , keurings and young horse classes, we have a greater knowledge than most of the young stock and the traits that they exhibit.  Thus we are far more able to advise our breeders on the suitability of a stallion.  During the season, we normally see between 200 and 600 young horses, so who better than us to know what certain stallions bring to the party (both good and bad!).

We are also very strict about semen quality.  That’s not to say that every stallion we represent has perfect semen, but where we know it not to be great, you will be fully advised so that you can make an informed decision and that there are no surprises.

VAT :

Because we are based in Europe, we charge 5.5% VAT, which immediately gives you a saving of 12% (2009 VAT rates) over our competitors.
